Executive Summary

Code Works built an informational website for Metropolis Greens. The website educates audiences on the company’s mission, founder, and product offerings. Code Works also provided a design review of Metropolis Greens’ current logo and implemented minor design edits to enhance the logo’s design.

Meet the Founder—Otho Farrow

Metropolis Greens is an indoor vertical farm growing the best micro and leafy greens inside Freight Farms shipping containers. The company was started by a local entrepreneur, Otho Farrow.

When the pandemic first started, Otho took the opportunity to start his own business by bringing the relatively new concept of hydroponic farming to the Michiana area.

Otho noticed that the Midwest is the farm belt; however, realized that a lot of the minority communities didn’t benefit from the local farming industry as consumers and business owners. Otho’s goal is to bring healthy options to his community and teach others how to get started in this industry as well.

Getting a professional-looking website is easier said than done for many entrepreneurs.

Before Otho partnered with Code Works, he built a website himself using Wix but didn’t feel like it looked as professional as he would’ve liked. He also had a hard time finding anyone online who could help him with a website redesign.

“It’s like a rabbit hole. And you still come away with knowing nothing.”

Not only did this space feel difficult to navigate, but the cost was also unrealistic for someone just getting started.

“It’s hard to quantify what professionalism does for you but we all know that we need it.”

Now, Otho has a professional-looking website. We also set him up with some good analytics to let him know how users are responding to his website and he gets routine email updates from Squarespace with tips on how to better use his site. As Otho’s business continues to grow, he also has a 6-month maintenance package with Code Works, where we will continue to provide ongoing support.
